Roadside attractions of Texas
Roadside attractions are a common sight in Texas; the weirder, the better! We love “hunting” as many as we can when we go on our roads trips around the state. Enjoy the trip!

Nodding donkeys are not necessarily a roadside attraction but they are common sight in West Texas.

I’ve seen a few gates like this one. I think they’re beautiful, don’t you?

Turkey
This tiny town has a restored 1929 Phillips 66 filling station.

Lampasas, Central Texas
The owner of this land thought it would be fun to build Texas Nessie with pieces of old farm machinery. I think he did a great job. It’s a shame the long grass covers Nessie partially. Hwy 183 seven miles south of Lampasas.

Italy
Starship Pegasus is located on I-35 in Italy. It started as a restaurant but it’s closed now and for sale.

Italy
The biggest caterpillar in the world can be found on the northbound side of Interstate 35 near Italy. Aren’t these little booties cute?
