Street photography in Dallas
I recently joined a group of amateur photographers on Facebook. They organize events like the Dallas Zoo Photo Walk I attended a while ago. Last weekend, they gave a talk on street photography at the Dallas Central Library. I was late and missed the beginning. However, I learned interesting facts, including a recommendation for a Netflix documentary called Finding Vivian Meier. It tells the story of a nanny who took thousands upon thousands of photos in the 50s, 60, 70s, and 80s but never showed them until someone came across her negatives and undeveloped film at an auction.
After the talk, we went out and strolled around the City Hall and Pioneer Plaza to take our own photos. I’m definitely no Cartier-Bresson but I like some of the shots, which I’m going to share here.

This big sculpture in Pioneer Plaza commemorates 19th-century cattle drives. This is one of the many fun things you can do in Dallas.

The Dallas Police Memorial honours Dallas police officers killed in the line of duty. The upper plate bears the badge numbers of the fallen officers, which are projected on the floor.

Hi Ana – I really enjoyed your Downtown Dallas Photo Walk. I am an aspiring Street Shooter in Downtown Dallas also, I have never shot the Dallas Police Memorial and I like that included Klyde Warren Park (Some of the Greatest Food Trucks in Texas) also you can check my work at my website http://www.birdmanphoto.com and let me know what you think.

I may have been mistaken – Lunchtime could possibly be from somewhere other than Klyde Warren Park, yet still a great capture 🙂
